They are only out for the money
First time I was at Simon back hurts so bad couldnt feel legs. They told me I had to pay $1000 more than the insurance said but could get a refund later.
This never happened.
Second time drove two hours for MRI insurance insisted I only need to pay about $2500. They would not do the test without receiving 5000 they could not call the insurance company or figure out what was wrong took too long then they said they couldnt do the appointment four hours of driving one hour of haggling.$$$$I would rather croak than go back to Simon med thank you Dennis

Verified Reviewer |Cancellation of Appt. and Rescheduling Customer Service
I had made an appt. on Feb.
4th for a CT scan with contrast for a kidney stone with SimonMed back in late January. I spent approx. 45 minutes filling out all the information required online, including uploading documents and insurance information. I showed up at the given location in Ahwatukee, AZ (15810 S 45th St, Ste.
110, PHX, AZ 85048) for my appt. and was told to sign in but that their system was down. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes and was then told that I would need to reschedule because the system was down... which should have been relayed to me prior to my arrival, not to mention the time I took off work.
I then tried to reschedule online but the SimonMed site was down, so I called the 1-86*-***-**** number and spoke with "Red" who was difficult at best to understand due to her accent. She began to ask me the same questions that I had already submitted through the website, and put me on hold several times to "check on that" for me. I politely asked if there was anyway she could access my previous appt. and pull that information over so we didn't waste time inputting the same information that I had already done.
She again put me on hold to "check that" at which time I asked to be connected to a supervisor. She once again put me on hold to "check that" but never put me through to a supervisor, but instead was magically able to move ahead and find a time slot that would work. After confirming the appt. I once again asked her to put me in contact with a supervisor to which she replied, "why, I have scheduled you and there is no problem".
When she asked why I wanted to speak with a supervisor my response was the inefficiency of the scheduling system and the almost 60 minutes I spent on the phone trying to reschedule an appt. that was already scheduled but cancelled due to SimonMed's system being down. I once again asked to be put through to a supervisor and was again put on hold, then disconnected. In addition, I did not receive a call back in regards to this or an email confirming my appt.
I have tried logging into the patient portal on the website, but it is still down.
My question is... how long does it usually take to schedule an appt. over the phone? I had all the information available, with the exception of the address but it still took close to 60 minutes to accomplish.
SimonMed holds patients accountable for your time and money owed... are patients not given this same courtesy? If I show up late, unprepared, or don't pay for your service I am held accountable for this. SimonMed has wasted at least two hours of my time, and cost me time from work which equates to money.
I do understand that life happens, but it appears that courtesy notification of systems being down and streamlined scheduling over the phone is not a top priority for your staff. If this is how SimonMed's customer service is, then I will work to find a different imaging provider in the future.
Also, I clicked on the "Proceed" button to send this and an error of "You already have an account using this email" log in via code. When I click on that, I was told a code was sent to me email address I originally provided... but I never got a code.
I am sending this through another email address, in hopes it finds someone... I am very skeptical it will.
User's recommendation: Look for a different imaging company.

Verified Reviewer |Although they requested I'd be here early for my appointment, which I was, I quickly filled out the paperwork and it now been waiting and you waiting area for 1 hour and 50 minutes and counting.
I'm not sure why they scheduled me for an 11:30 a.m. appointment when it doesn't appear that they will even call me from the waiting room before 1:30 p.m.
Who knows, it might even be 2:00 p.m. or later before I am called to have my photograph taken. Someone in the waiting room mentioned there's something going around. The idea that people who claim to care about others' health are packing a bunch of people into a waiting room for an extended period, making them susceptible to catching illnesses from each other, seems to indicate that they are not in the healthcare industry but rather in the 'we-don't-care-about-your-health' industry.
Not to mention, they don't seem to care about my time or whether I will get to eat lunch today. I have been through outpatient surgery faster than the time it's taking them to get around to taking a simple photograph. Please tell your doctor that you would prefer to go somewhere else. This should not be tolerated as acceptable.
I have been in and out for an x-ray in 10 minutes at other places. But I have now been sitting here for over 2 hours without any updates. It's just pathetic. It does appear that a good number of Spanish-speaking clients who arrived after me have already been called in.
So perhaps they just have a strong preference for Spanish-speaking patients.
Especially if you don't speak Spanish, go somewhere else. Anywhere else!
- No respect for peoples time and little respect for peoples health with regards to having so many people crammed in a waiting room for such a long time together where somebody might spread the flu or covid to somebody else also many spanish speaking patien

Verified Reviewer |This place is a vile nightmare
I'm writing this in hopes that others can avoid having the awful experience I had -- by going elsewhere. This whole place is a nightmare.
I went in for a diagnostic breast mammogram. When I made the appointment, they failed to tell me that they needed my previous imaging -- and they also failed to get it from my doctor or the other imaging places. I have a broken knee, so I'm in a wheelchair, and my husband had to drive me. We drove all the way there, to be told that they refused to do the mammogram without my previous imaging.
That was gas money, my time, my husband's time, the pain of dealing with a broken knee while getting in and out of a car, etc. Not to mention, if there is a problem, more time for it to grow. We rescheduled, and I spent literally a full day, nonstop, trying to get the images to them, since I figured they wouldn't be doing their job in them. On holds, menus, etc.
Literally all day. I called them many times to see if they got the images, but for some reason, the call center can't connect one to the office. I got the office manager's number, but her voice mail was always full, and she never answered the phone. Fast forward to my next appointment.
It was for 11:30 this morning. I got a text the day before saying it was for 11:30, but one later in the day saying 12:30, so I figured they changed my appointment time. My husband and I went in -- broken knee, gas money, both of our time, etc. They said I was an hour late.
I said the appointment had been changed to 12:30. They said it wasn't -- that that was an automated center in Arizona and not their office. Then they said I had two appointments -- one at 11:30 and one at 12:30. I said I only had one -- for a diagnostic mammogram.
They said I also had a diagnostic ultrasound. I told them something I had also told them last time I'd been there -- that I had had the diagnostic ultrasound elsewhere, and only needed the diagnostic mammogram. They insisted that it was for both. I said that since I was fifteen minutes early for my 12:30 appointment, would they please do just the mammogram.
They refused. This is the last day of the year, and I have already met my insurance out-of-pocket, but as of tomorrow, I have a new out-of-pocket starting -- so I'll have to pay a co-pay. No matter what I said, they refused to give me my 12:30 diagnostic mammogram. I will never go back to this horrible, nasty, uncaring, rude, vile place.
They don't care at all about their patients' time, money, or lives. (Because now I have to wait even longer to get a diagnostic mammogram -- and if anything bad is growing, this just gives it longer to grow before diagnosis and treatment.) This place is literally vile.G,
User's recommendation: Go elsewhere and save yourself time and angst.
MRI test
Was told over the phone a couple of days ago to arrive early for my appointment which I arrived at 740 am for an 800 MRI on my right knee. I did not get tested until 820 am.
The reception desk had a female who probably shouldn't even have come into work today because she was coughing her head off as she was typing and waiting on patients to come in. She also kept wiping her nose because she had the sniffles. My complaint is that the MRI staff that took me to the back could have been more professional. I was told to leave the room because they had to check with the doctor over the phone to ask if I can even be given an MRi because I have a Loop Recorder in my chest.
I explained to her that I also have a Watchman device as well because I have a heart condition. After she called me back into the MRI room I had to remove my left Prosthetic leg because there is metal inside the leg and you can't stand close to the MRI machine yet she asked me to step over to the table without my prosthetic leg on which even though it was only a couple of steps I could have fallen on the floor. She did get a wheelchair for me to put me closer to the table but what I don't understand is that the wheelchair is made out of metal also so why couldn't I have just walked over sat on the table and taken my leg off there. Test was over in 15 minutes but I felt it was rushed and the 2 women seemed like that they didn't want me to be there.
Didn't even seem to ask me any questions either or make me comfortable just how they wanted me to position my leg on the table. I never want to go back to the Goodyear location. Today's date is March 3rd, 2025 same day as my test.
I am also requesting a phone call from a Supervisor or Manager to discuss further but not from anyone at the location of my test. Thank you

Verified ReviewerRelentless nonstop calls to schedule
Simonmed literally hounds you relentlessly with nonstop phone calls to schedule appointments. I've received multiple phone calls throughout the day, starting at 7:30 in the morning.
I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling me, then literally receive calls the next day. Simonmed has called me over one hundred times in the last 6 months.
My voicemail inbox is full of messages. How do I get these vultures to stop calling me!

Three appointments were canceled.

Verified Reviewer |Incompetence at all locations
This is the worst run medical business in the country. DO NOT GO HERE.
They only care about your money, they dont do the tests properly, they dont analyze tests properly. You will waist your money getting imagine at any of their locations and receive very questionable results. I had a 7am appointment location. Told to arrive at 6:30.
Not one employees showed up till 7:20am long after posted hours. Doors were all locked. The employee showed up and had no clue what to do so he asked us all to leave and closed the site. Called customer service.
No one had any clue as to why their employees just decided not to show up. No one cares about the day of work taken off by the patients.
DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL COSTS. These are incompetent people and not the people you want running your tests for potentially life altering conditions.
- Zero pros
- Incompetent staff
- Lack of communication
- Zero operational efficiency

Very disappointed. It's the company that doesn't care about patients, only about money.
They went into my banking account and removed the money without my consent, without any warning. This is called fraud, or stealing from your bank. I reported it and even if it was reported, they did it.
Shameful and disgruntled. I would not recommend anyone to do imaging at this company.

Tech unable to give IV for contrast
I was at the Simon Med on McKellips in Mesa. I was to have CT with contrast.
The CT tech says to be as I enter the room, "Do you have good veins?' I said No. She said well I can only poke you 3 times. What? You is trying to discourage me before I even lay down.
She asked me to show her the vein they use. I showed her and she said that's not good but I will try as I have to get this through the vein (while showing me the needle). I said, "I don't want to see that". She inserts the IV pushing it around and said I can't get it.
After she had caused me pain. She said you need to go to a hospital to get this done. I said, "aren't you going to check other veins, everyone finds a vein to use." She feels both my arms with a light touch (not looking) and said no you don't have one. She was rude and unprofessional.
I told her I really needed the CT scan of brain. This was by far the WORSE IV tech I have ever had. I have had a LOT of IV's in my day. It was like they got her off the streets.
She was nervous about doing the IV and didn't want to do it the minute she knew I had difficult veins. DO NOT go get a CT scan at the McKellips office - she should retire and stop abusing people's veins! Simon Med has gone downhill! The ladies at the front were very nice and apologized to me for her behavior.
A week later and I still have the bruise from her trying to pushing the IV through.
F all the way for CT tech at Simon Med on McKellips - replace her asap! Plus the personality of her is no compliment to her inability to do her job.

Verified Reviewer |I cannot even begin to describe...
Simonmed's scheduling system is so hopelessly broken it makes sitting in the Motor Vehicle Department waiting for your number to be called seem downright pleasant.
I needed to have a CT scan for a minor outpatient procedure, and set up an appointment with a local office to have it done. The surgery was about a month out, so no rush, right?
Well, the first time, I had to reschedule because the tech was out that day. The second time, I had to reschedule because the machine was broken. The third time, I managed to get the scan done - barely under the wire - so that I could have the surgery.
Two days later, I got a call saying my appointment needed to be rescheduled. So I called, and the phone rep was very insistent that I needed to schedule...the scan I'd had two days prior.
I told him that it was already taken care of, but that wasn't good enough. "No sir, I must schedule you!" Over and over again. I finally hung up after about 20 minutes of back and forth.
Fast forward a few months, and I have another issue that needs a CT scan. Here we go again.
Scheduled an appointment. Arrived at the appointed time and place. I was "not in our system," despite showing the receptionist the text and email I'd gotten the day prior. Also, their tech was out that day, so I needed to reschedule!
So I did that, moved my PCP's appointment, and promptly got a text saying I needed to reschedule the scan that I'd JUST SCHEDULED!
I called, and confirmed my appointment and was told something about a duplicate order. Problem solved! Nope. Not long after, I got an automated phone call telling me I needed to reschedule!
I hung up, and plan to show up for the rescheduled appointment next week Wish me luck, folks!
p.s. when it comes to the in person experience, the people at the SimonMed front desk are only slightly less unfriendly than that of an impound yard.

Treatment by a the check in attendant with total disrespect with a raciest attitude with not be tolerated
I have severe migraine headaches, Service connected disability I also a retired military service member age 78 yrs. Prior to my appointment I had sent in to Simon med imaging all the insurance information and details.
At the appt time I stood in line while the operations mgr was having a joking conversation with her friend conversing in the spanish language. After standing their for 10 minutes when it became my turn she ordered me to take a seat and wait whicle she checks on my insurance Medicare a,b, tricare for life. while observing her spending her time laughing with her friends there. She has caused me to become late for my appt sitting and waiting for 20 minutes with no response from her.
I started to develop a severe migraine attack from the all this frustration. I asked her what seems to be the problem she said listen when it is your turn i call you, so, for now you in my way take a seat. I told her I am dissatisfied with her totally rude and humiliating disrespect and become discussed and sick of this behavior left without being addressed to the proper management.
I had to call my son to come there and drive me home because I was so ill with the migraine headache vomiting and sick. Why is this tolerated I plan to not only let the public know I will also contact my insurance and Veterans administration along with my state senator.

Verified Reviewer |The front desk employees are very rude. Ignore the customers and do not answer questions properly. In addition, their billing department is totally inept.
On two occasions, I have had problems with this company. I will make sure never to use them for my imaging needs again.
First, the front desk employees are totally rude and they let customers wait indefinitely for procedures. Last but not least, their billing department is the worst. They announce that the test for Calcium Score is $99, but they never explain that Medicare and other insurance companies do not cover this test, instead of charging the customer for the $99.00. Then, they submit to the customer's insurance a claim for the test and when it is denied, they charge the customer $140.00!
On the second occasion, I went to their location, gave them the doctor's order (which was STAT), they asked for my insurance cards and then said 'you will be called shortly'.
After three hours, I asked them how long I was supposed to wait and then they told me I had an appointment for three hours later. They never informed me of that fact. Then, a few days later they called me and said that my insurance company did not cover the test. I have traditional Medicare as primary insurance and B/C B/S as secondary which covers everything, including cancer treatment.
I don't know if they had, in fact, submitted the claim to my insurance carrier. My opinion is that this company should be banned from doing business!
- No pros all cons
Preferred solution: An explanation of their mishandling of their billing decisions. An apoligy of their rudeness with their customers.
