I worked there for a year. The billing practices are disgusting.
The billing department insists that patients pay copays and coinsurance that are covered by the insurance. 80% of prior authorizations were not approved in time for patient scans. Also, the prior authorization team is only able to obtain these prior authorizations by lying about or greatly embellishing their symptoms. Essentially, what are medical secretaries are just adding symptoms that end up as a part of the patients permanent records.
This place needs to be closed down. I can't even begin to imagine how many patients ended up having a bad experience with this place. Also, please note that this is not at one or two offices...

Over charged and lied to by front desk
Have been to same location at least 4 times in less than one year. Went January 25, 2024 for simple xray of ankle.
Have always been charged $10.00 for ankle xray. This visit I was changed $63.46. I disputed amount and rude young woman at the desk told me that it was verified with my insurance company and charge would apply to a $100.00 deductible. I advised this woman I had no deductible on my plan, but she was adamant and persisted.
They kept me waiting for quite a long time so I went back to the front desk and inquired. They wanted that stated amount of money. I reluctantly paid it then was told they could not provide me with a paid receipt. When I returned home I called Cigna to vetify that information.
Cigna advised me that no one had called to verify benefits on my plan and I owe. $10.00.
A few days later Simonmed advised me to take it up with their billing dept. I don't even have an account number!!!

They won't leave me alone

Terrible service
You cannot get an xray scheduled. They will only do walk-ins for xrays.
But that typically means you will have to wait way too long (two hours or more based on my experience) to finally get in. Happened to me again today. I expressed that concern at the front desk, and the gal said not to worry, she would get me in. I promptly received two texts saying I was scheduled...blah, blah.
So I started waiting. Two and a half hours later (the gal looked directly at me every once in a while) I finally looked at the two texts again and saw that each had me scheduled at two different facilities other than the Buckeye location I was at. So I went back to the counter, told the gal I was confused. Turns out she was.
Who are you, she asked.
So we had to start all over. Anway I finally got in, but then they couldn't do the xray because the order was for "the wrong ankle."For x

Refused to work with BBB on resolving the issue. Paid cash for procedure.
Ended up with overpayment. They appealed to BC on a procedure they told me was experimental. BC denied. Can’t speak to a manager.

They overcharge you up front and keep your money. I have made several calls to billing and even wrote a letter to the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sadegi, with no response. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB stating I am due a refund.
They responded that my account has been removed from patient responsibility and is being appealed with insurance. Insurance processed the claims in totality within 2 weeks of my visit. There is absolutely nothing to appeal. It's a delay tactic.
It's obvious they don't know the difference between a refund and patient responsibility. Forget asking to speak to a supervisor. They are banking on people not looking at their EOBs and matching them up with what was paid on date of service. These people are crooks.
I am a professional coder and biller. I have worked in healthcare my entire life. Trust me...don't go here. If you do, hire someone to track your payments and bills.
They will steal you blind and make every excuse not to refund your money. Zero stars for me.
I have now filed a complaint with my insurance company. BEWARE!!!

Schedulers don't know what each location offers and schedule mri etc where not available.
Admin has closed busy locations in 55+ retirement areas. Reason given they cant handle the high demand so shut down forcing consumers to travel 30 to 50 miles to locations with lower demand.
Idiots. But its ok says admin. Just go online. Online is incorrect (updates?) PLUS 30% OF OVER 65 DON'T HAVE A PHONE OR COMPUTER so its kinda hard to do.
AND 80% of this group DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO ONLINE .
ADMIN IS CRAZY. RE-OPEN LOCATIONS WHERE CUSTOMERS ARE CLOSE WHERE THEY ARE NOT.
Sorry the high rent Districts are vacant... perhaps REALIZE MEDICARE IS YOUR MAIN MARKET.

Double billing
CUSTOMER BEWARE. Simonmed will collect payment the day of service and then continue to harass you weekly with texts, emails and phone calls stating that your bill was not paid and that money is owed.
Even when you contact them on several occasions and they say oh yes we see your payment sorry for the inconvenience and please disregaurd. The following week more emails text and phoen calls continue. I have even sent the receipt the proof of what was owed via insurance statement and am stillwaiting review.
Are you kidding me what more proof of payment do you need.
I'm not exactly sure if they are trying to inflate there profits to shareholders or what the reason is. But its illegal, its harassment and id bet if any customer double pays based on this they would never receive a refund!

You do realize karma will come after you hard? The fact that you stayed, worked and witnessed all of this, yet it wasn’t an issue till you left, is lost on no one. It is ironic how you detail your immoral behavior by your “observations “ over time as an employee, but only claim moral outrage when there is no longer a paycheck to cash.
